British gas prices declined on Thursday, with the NBP spot price slipping by 6% to 93.25 p/therm, driven by milder temperatures.
Likewise, the NBP Summer 2025 delivery contract tumbled by over 7%, closing at 92.67 p/therm, as EU member states urged the European Commission to address Russian gas transit via Ukraine during a defence summit.
The UK power market showed a mixed trend on Thursday. The spot price surged by 12% to 91.09 GBP/MWh, driven by a sharp decline in wind generation.
In contrast, the UK Summer 2025 delivery contract followed weaker gas prices, falling by 5% to 75.94 GBP/MWh.
