British near-term gas prices extended gains on Thursday, with NBP spot trading 1% higher at 135.65 p/therm amid forecasts of lower temperatures and falling inventory levels.
Along the forward curve, the gas price for Sum-25 delivery rose by over 2% to 130.10 p/therm amid persisting supply concerns.
British electricity prices experienced mixed trends on Thursday. The day-ahead price dropped by 6% to 111.99 GBP/MWh, driven by an increase in wind generation, while the Summer 2025 electricity contract rose by nearly 2% to 100.09 GBP/MWh, mirroring upward trends in the UK gas market.
