Week ending: 04/04/2025

Gas

British near-term gas prices fell on Thursday amid reduced demand due to milder weather and healthy supply. Hence, NBP spot decreased by almost 3%, ending at 95.78 p/therm. Further along the curve, the gas price for Win-2025 delivery slumped by 4.4%, closing at 102.19 p/therm due to concerns over new U.S. tariffs, which sparked fears of economic slowdown and lower future energy demand.

Power

The UK spot electricity price surged by over 4%, reaching 74 GBP/MWh on Thursday as wind power generation in the UK is expected to plummet next week.
In contrast, the Winter 2025 electricity price dropped by 2.7%, settling at 88.57 GBP/MWh, moving in tandem with lower gas and carbon prices.
